Who are we, really?

Thanks to Byzantine, TX for the above.

There is no doubt that people in the USA do not have a good idea who we are. And, that is OK. It is our job to reach out and explain to others.

Who the fill-in-the-blanks Think We Are:
    1) Evangelicals — Hasidic Jews (must be the beards…)
    2) Fundies — Romish Papist Mystery Bablyon (Ooooo–kayyyyy…)
    3) Roman Catholics — EWOKS? WTF?
    4) Greek Catholics — Eastern-rite clergyman with a Browning M1919 LMG — somebody care to explain?
    5) The Media — Some sort of militia? Serbian Ethnic Cleansers? Russian Supremacists? Somebody care to explain?

      3) Roman Catholics tend to think of us as cute and tenacious. We are schismatic, but otherwise OK. Aren’t their complex rites oh so darling and artistic?

      4) Ukrainian Catholics view Ukrainian Orthodox as wanting to force them into Orthodoxy. The same would be true of some of the other Slavic Byzantine Catholics.

      5) And, as a matter of fact, there are periodic stories in the media about the Russian Orthodox and their inappropriate “alliance” with Putin. Why can we not recognize that he is the devil incarnate? The Orthodox really need to side with the West, meaning the USA.
