For instance, there are less than 30 embryonic stem cell research experiments going on in the USA right now, whereas there are over 4000 adult stem cell research experiments in progress.
Note that adult stem cell research is not opposed by the Church. The reason is that adult stem cells are donated through informed consent while—with some exceptions—embryonic stem cells had been harvested from otherwise healthy embryos that had been aborted.
