On grandkids and failure to post

17 June 2009 · by  Fr. Ernesto 5 Comments

Ok, so why did I not post today? (It is 10 pm right now.)

Well, frankly, I was driving back from visiting the grandkids. I spoiled them and my daughters (two of the three) rotten, as well as a future son-in-law. We went to the Birmingham Zoo; I spent tons of money on snacks, funny hats, etc. And, in the middle of walking through the zoo, while daughter and grandchildren were in the restroom, our youngest daughter’s boyfriend asked me for her hand in marriage. I said a happy yes. (My wife and I were not in the least surprised.)

Our future son-in-law is in the Air Force and has already served one tour in Iraq. Our youngest daughter is a 2nd Lieutenant in the Alabama National Guard. She will be deployed overseas at the end of this year. I am proud of both of them. In passing, when her deployment time comes, I will post it so you can help us keep her upheld in prayer.

So, if you are wondering why no post? Well, family comes first! I am sunburnt, tired, and very very happy.

Why, what do you mean, “failure to post?” This counts as a post! Doesn’t it? 😉

Sounds to me like a day very well spent!

Congratulations. I must say though, I live in fear for when the boyfriend/fiancee years arrive – I have 2 daughters and 1 son, aged 12, 10 and 8. It’s not sofar… maybe a double barrel shotgun will helP? Advice?

You are truly blessed to have kids and grandkids that you can visit and who love you.
