French frigate Nivose
Allons, enfants de Patrie,

Father Orthoduck wishes to congratulate the French on their delightful naval action. The report comes from the Times of London from slightly over two weeks ago. The report just showed up on USA news media yesterday. Three boats with Somali pirates say a large juicy target just off of the Seychelles, and went after it. They made several mistakes, but the worst one was that they went after a ship that had the sun behind it.
The ship turned away from them and appeared to be fleeing, which is like showing raw meat to a bunch of sharks. So, they chased it, even though they still could not clearly identify it because it was sailing right into the sun. Now Father Orthoduck can tell you from his flying experience that trying to see something ahead when the sun is behind it is very hard on the eyes. As they drew closer, they finally realized that something was wrong when two small boats came racing towards them from the ship and then a helicopter took off from it.
The ship was the French frigate Nivose who had just finished running a sucker play on them. Fortunately for the pirates, they all quickly surrendered under the overwhelming firepower before them and they are all now under arrest. So, let’s congratulate the French on a good strategy that means that no one was hurt and the world was made a little safer!
