How many of you remember The Far Side comics? Yes, they were those comics that you were never quite sure whether you were supposed to laugh at them or not. The humor of the Far Side was quirky and sometimes even sick. And yet, it was done with just enough humor that even when the comic was on the borderline of sick, you could not help but laugh at it.
Well, The Far Side is back! Well, at least it is beginning to be back. There is not much new there yet, just a couple of new cartoons. But, if you go to https://www.thefarside.com/ you can see what little there is that’s new. In my case, I get to return to my guilty pleasure. I can see drawings of three female praying mantis at a get-together. One of them turns down a dessert on the grounds that she just ate her young an hour ago.
Yes, this is the humor that made The Far Side such an oddball comic. Then there was the one of the person in a major city hailing a taxi. Except he was not hailing a taxi. Rather, you see a pickup truck full of stuffed animals and the sign on the side says what the man is yelling. For the man is actually waving and yelling, “Taxidermist!”
I could go on, but you get the idea. So, if you were a fan of The Far Side pop on over and see the first three new comics that Gary Larson has published in about 25 years.

I have already pre-ordered the 2021 calendar for my brother, to whom we gave one every Christmas until they stopped. He owns the (up till now) Complete Far Side volumes.
