Fortunately, the Federal courts have struck down parts of the Florida laws that have to do with purging voters. Yes, I said that correctly. If you read in the news, both the Orlando Sentinel and the Miami Herald have published more than one example of people who have voted before, are American citizens, some of whom are even veterans, and whom the State of Florida tried to purge from its voters rolls.

These set of laws are some of the best arguments I have ever read and heard for Federal judicial interference. Please note as you watch the video that there are Republican supervisors of election that are against these laws, as well as the League of Women Voters. Florida has become a frightening state.

This is why I’m no longer a Republican. Now if we had the conservationist trust-busting Theodore Roosevelt (leaving behind his big stick) or the cautioner (is that a word?) against the military-government establishment Dwight Eisenhower around leading the way it might be a different story. One entitled “Government for the people.” I wonder if there any like them around anymore?
I think this kind of thing should certainly give pause to anyone who thinks this Party is the “moral” party. But why doesn’t it?
