Well, the last two years politically have been a type of roller coaster. Two years ago the Republicans were thrown out. Now two years later, the Democrats are thrown out of the House of Representatives. I am fairly sure that we are in for another two years of turmoil. If nothing else, I suspect that the Democrats will return the Republican tactics and vote “no” on many issues. More than that, the success of extreme tactics is only likely to encourage more extreme tactics. Buckle your belts and hang on, because I fully expect that some form of left-wing version of the Tea Party movement is about to begin.
For those of us who are moderate, I fully expect another two years of pain as we are forced to explain that we neither fully agree with one side nor with the other side. You may wish to pray that the Lord will raise up a few moderates in both the House and the Senate.
The problem, Father, is that, in terms of Western Europe and most of the rest of the developed world, what is “left” in the United States is “center” pretty much everywhere else.
