    I wish this were true, but listening closely to my black brothers and sisters I disagree. Pres. elect Obama does not share their values, only their skin color. This was not a color blind election at all.

    Given what you said, you might wish to read my post on Americans remaining socially moderate, posted after this post, because that post would seem to partially agree with your thesis.

    Having said that, be cautious with your statements. You come all too close to the rather insulting statement that a black vote for President-elect Obama was strictly due to racial solidarity. African-American voters have been reliably Democratic voters prior to Obama, despite their disagreements with the far-left of the party, because they agreed with the Democratic party on many issues more than they did with the Republican party.
