Yes, folks, the disgusting season is still with us. You may remember that a lawsuit was actually filed against Sen. McCain early in the campaign, on the grounds that he was not a true natural born citizen of the United States of America. The reasoning was that the Canal Zone was not legally a part of the United States, and thus Sen. McCain was not natural born. There was never any argument about his being a citizen, only about being natural-born. The lawsuit was dismissed.
And, yes, there was a lawsuit filed against Sen. Obama as well. That lawsuit claims that he lost his citizenship when his mother went to live in Indonesia with his father. She was naturalized there, and, therefore, Sen. Obama was naturalized as well and lost his USA citizenship, according to the claim. He returned to the USA when he was 10 and has been residing here since, but the claim is that he should have taken an oath of citizenship at 18. There is also a secondary claim that his birth certificate may be false, and he may not have been born here. Needless to say, the courts have not agreed.
Both of these lawsuits were more frivolous, but now comes a more disgusting charge from Rush Limbaugh. As Sen. Obama has gone to his grandmother’s bedside, Rush Limbaugh has the real reason for Sen. Obama’s trip to Hawaii:
This birth certificate business, this lawsuit that a guy named Philip Berg filed in Philadelphia in August for Obama to produce his genuine birth certificate and he still hasn’t replied. You’ve got a deathly ill grandmother, you are going to rush to her side a few days from now, when you first announced this, you’re going to rush, you’re going to hurry, you’re going to make tracks, you’re going to get over there because you don’t want your grandmother to die before you got there like your mother did, but somehow you keep campaigning, you take three days to get over there, if he’s left yet, and this birth certificate business, I’m just wondering if something’s up. I have no clue, and folks, I’m telling you, this has not reached the threshold until now, and it’s popping up all over the place. There are a lot of people now that are starting to speculate and be curious about this.
Yes, the charge now is that he is going to doctor his birth certificate, and that no one is going to notice. The first two lawsuits one can ignore. After all, this is a country that permits frivolous lawsuits and does not penalize those filing them. But, this is a national radio host with a large audience. He is accusing not only Sen. Obama. He has to be accusing the State of Hawaii with collusion. In fact, he is spreading an accusation that not only attacks Sen. Obama’s compassion, but also the personnel of an entire state bureau.
I fully expect some equivalently disgusting charge against Sen. McCain next. But, if worst comes to worst, it may mean that the only people eligible to take office this year are Sen. Biden and Gov. Palin. What an interesting development!
