More about Christians fleeing Iraq
Doonesbury 01 January 2009 OK, so you are wondering where that 600,000 Christians fleeing Iraq comes from? Well, that is our official government figure! It is not made up. It does not come from some “liberal” website. It is from the U.S. International Commission on Religious Freedom, a body appointed by the USA Congress. If the Christians leaving can afford a plane ticket, they flee to... [Read more]
Christians in Syria
Doonesbury on 30 Dec 2008 I am priest in a Church whose Patriarchate is headquartered in Damascus, Syria. I have found that Americans have a number of misconceptions about Christianity in Syria. Oh, the games people play
So, I had CNN on in the background yesterday while I worked on a recalcitrant computer. And, it was hurricane coverage unending. All of a sudden I found myself watching as they reported on the levees. Earlier, it had been said that the water was splashing over, so I was interested. The reporter said the same as the previous time, the water was splashing over, only to be corrected by the news anchor... [Read more]

If you... [Read more]

Relief!
Thank you for your prayers. At this point the rain has slowed down here, there have even been periods of no rain, and the skies are starting to lighten, though still completely overcast. I have checked with several of our people, and Kh. Denise has checked with several more, and everyone seems to be OK so far. The elderly lady that we had to move is doing well at her granddaughter’s house, although... [Read more]
