Shakirah and the World Cup
At 2:30 this afternoon today, the USA and Ghana will play in the Round of 16. In honor of this event Father Orthoduck has posted above the Colombian singer Shakira performing the theme song for the 2010 World Cup at the opening concert. Now, you might ask why a Colombian singer is performing the theme song at an African World Cup when there are many good African singers. The answer is, “Father Orthoduck does not know.” In fact, the person who coordinated the filming of the official video was asked the same thing. He never quite gave a good answer other than that she is a good singer.
But, who cares! Father Orthoduck hopes you enjoy the video. In the meantime, USA, USA, USA.
